DGP Singh takes stock of yatra arrangements

Director General of Police Dilbag Singh along with other senior police officers on Sunday visited the base camps of Amarnath pilgrims and other important points all along the National Highway to discuss the required arrangements with the deployed officers at these places and brief them accordingly, a police spokesman said.

 He said that theDGP  along with IGP Kashmir SPPani, DIGcentral Kashmir V K Biridi and DIG south Atul Goel visited Yatra route fromSrinagar, Pantha Chowk to Marhama Sangam and inspected the securityarrangements put in place for the Yatra. He inspected the access control andtraffic regulation at different points.

   

“At Sangam Mirhama, while interacting with the deployedofficers and jawans the DGP emphasized upon them to follow the security plansstrictly and efficiently for the security of the yatris. He directed them to beextra vigilant and make use of all available resources to ensure peacefulconduct of the yatra. He also stressed for smooth regulation of traffic atdifferent points on the National Highway.

SSP Anantnag Altaf Ahmad Khan and SSP Awantipora TahirSaleem and other jurisdictional officers apprised the DGP about the securitymeasures adopted for smooth conduct of the ongoing pilgrimage,” the spokesman added.
