The Director General of Police (DGP), Dilbag Singh Friday visited Baltal, Panjtarni and Sheshnag to take stock of arrangements at different base camps for the ongoing Amarnath Yatra.
He took stock of the security arrangements put in place at the camps for peaceful conduct of Yatra through Baltal and Phalgam route.
The DGP was accompanied by IGP Kashmir SP Pani and DIG CKR VK Birdi. The DGP interacted with officers deployed at these camps and enquired about different arrangements made there.
The DGP visited the hospital established for Yatris at Baltal and enquired about health care facilities being provided to them.
He also visited Police Station Baltal and directed the police personnel to be extra vigilant to ensure that all possible assistance is provided to the pilgrims.
At the three base camps the DGP discussed disaster management and rescue measures with the officers. He appreciated role of police MRTs who have assisted and evacuated 198 Yatris at various difficult locations on track from Mahagunas Top, Wavbal and Poshpatri.
He also complimented various camp commanders, force commanders and officers of various Police and civil wings for all measures and arrangements made for safe and smooth Yatra.
