DGP visits Baltal, Panjtarni, Sheshnag

The Director General of Police (DGP), Dilbag Singh Friday visited Baltal, Panjtarni and Sheshnag to take stock of arrangements at different base camps for the ongoing Amarnath Yatra.

He took stock of the security arrangements put in place atthe camps for peaceful conduct of Yatra through Baltal and Phalgam route.

   

The DGP was accompanied by IGP Kashmir SP Pani and DIG CKRVK Birdi. The DGP interacted with officers deployed at these camps and enquiredabout different arrangements made there.

The DGP visited the hospital established for Yatris atBaltal and enquired about health care facilities being provided to them.

He also visited Police Station Baltal and directed thepolice personnel to be extra vigilant to ensure that all possible assistance isprovided to the pilgrims.

At the three base camps the DGP discussed disastermanagement and rescue measures with the officers. He appreciated role of policeMRTs who have assisted and evacuated 198 Yatris at various difficult locationson track from Mahagunas Top, Wavbal and Poshpatri.

He also complimented various camp commanders, forcecommanders and officers of various Police and civil wings for all measures andarrangements made for safe and smooth Yatra.
