DGP visits Pulwama, Awantipora reviews security scenario

Director General of Police Dilbag Singh today visited Pulwama and Awantipora and took a review of the security scenario in the areas. He was accompanied by IGP Kashmir S P Pani.

The DGP Dilbag Singh interacted with the district andjurisdictional police officers during his visit. He commended the collectiveefforts of J&K Police and other security forces for maintaining peace andorder in the districts. He said that all officers and their subordinates aredoing a commendable job in the fight against militants and “our efforts willcontinue with increased coordination among the forces.”

   

 He emphasised toenhance people friendly approach adopted by the forces in tough situations.

The DGP reiterated that professionalism and sincerity incurbing crimes will bring more successes for the force. He said that efforts ofpolice and other security forces in conducting Lok Sabha elections smoothly arehighly appreciated. He expressed hope that people friendly policing will helpto enhance the police public cooperation in the fight against crime.

At Awantipora meeting the DGP Singh directed Awantiporapolice to make preparations for the smooth conduct for the forthcoming Amarnathyatra.

The DGP was presented guard of honour at the twin places. Hehonoured with rewards the personnel for their performance.

The DGP also visited sub Jail Pulwama where he was receivedby DIG Prisons M S Lone and other officers. He interacted with the inmates andthe staff. He also inaugurated the laboratory for plumbing, where courses willbe started in collaboration with Art of Living organisations,  and a waiting hall at Sub-Jail to facilitatemore visitors of the inmates.

DC Pulwama Syed Abid Rashid Shah,SSP Pulwama Chandan Kohli,SSP Awantipora  Tahir Saleem Khan,officers from Army, CRPF and jurisdictional police officers were present on theoccasions.
