DIG South Kashmir calls for joint law and order drills with CRPF

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) South Kashmir Range Atul Goel Thursday called upon the Police to conduct joint law and order drills with the paramilitary CRPF.

A statement of J&K Police issued here said that interacting with probationary IPS officers undergoing training in different CRPF units of Awantipora, Goel highlighted the role of Police and CAPF in maintaining peace and security in J&K.

   

It said that after interaction with the probationary IPS officers, he visited the District Police Lines ground where ‘South Kashmir U-19 cricket tournament’ is being organised.

The statement said that Goel held an interaction with the players of the two teams ‘Shopian A’ and ‘Shopian B’.

It said that he also held an interaction with the officers of Police District Awantipora during which he emphasised upon the officers to deal the situations with utmost professionalism, conduct joint law and order drills with CRPF and continue the drive against the drug peddlers.

The statement said that earlier, SSP Awantipora shared some of the work experience of J&K Police and CAPF units and briefed them on how coordination was being maintained among the different forces.

SSP Awantipora Tahir Saleem, SDPO Awantipora, SDPO Pampore, DySP Awantipora and DySP DAR and other officers also participated in the programme.
