District admin seizes R&B building in Bandipora

District administration Bandipora has seized a building of R&B department in main market of Bandipora town in north Kashmir for being illegally occupied by some shopkeepers.

An official said that the two storey building owned byR&B department was seized by ACR Bandipora Reyaz Ahmad Beigh aftercomplaints that the building is being occupied illegally by some shopkeepersand a politician.

   

He said that the one set of the building was illegallyoccupied by a politician who had handed over the same to his relative forrunning a godown of his shop.

“Another set of the building was occupied by ashopkeeper for running a clinic in it without any allotment from the concerneddepartment or the district administration. They had occupied the governmentbuildings illegally which is a criminal offence,” he said.

He said that after ACR received complaints regarding theillegal occupation of the building he inspected the building and seized it onspot.

The official said that the building was allotted to somepersons in 2007 at a monthly rent of Rs 500, however, they had on their owngiven the same to others without any allotments and permission from theconcerned department or district administration.
