Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan, who is also Chairman of Regional Red Cross Society, today convened a meeting to review issues pertaining to galvanizing Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS).
Various issues of the Society were discussed threadbare inthe meeting. It was emphasized that there is a need to put the Society onmodern lines and procurement of the latest emergency material that can be usedin case of exigency.
The Divisional Commissioner stressed the concerned to holdseminars at village, school and college level to create awareness regarding theRed Cross Society. He also called for launching an intensive membership driveacross the valley with the help of Deputy Commissioners for enrolling morevolunteers whose services can be used for noble cause of Indian Red CrossSociety.General Secretary Indian Red Cross Society(J&K State) Kifayat Hussain Rizvi, Secretary Indian Red Cross Society(Kashmir) Mohammad Rafiq Mattoo and other concerned officers were present inthe meeting.
