Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, today convened a meeting to review the arrangements for MelaKheerBhawani which will be celebrated across the valley on June 20, 2018.
The meeting was informed that the Mela will be celebrated at Tulmulla in Ganderbal, Tikker in Kupwara, Laktipora, Mattan, Vessu in Anantnag, Manzgam, Devsar in Kulgam and at KapalMochan in Shopian district.
Threadbare discussions were held on lodging, STP work, de-silting of Tulmullahnallah, construction of pre-fab sheds, repairing of dormitory and lavatory blocks, sanitation, barricading, fool-proof security, and general face-lifting in and around of the festival temples.
The Divisional commissioner directed the concerned deputy commissioners for making necessary arrangements for uninterrupted power and drinking water supplies, transport, security, fire tenders, ration, bedding, installation of CCTV cameras, medical camps, additional accommodations besides ensuring road repairs and medical facilities at the temples where MelaKheerBhawani will be celebrated..
He directed the concerned district administrations to start joint control room in the premises of the festival venues and disseminate the contact numbers to the media for publicity so that the devotees are facilitated.
