The Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir Pandurang K Pole Monday chaired a high level meeting to review arrangements put in place by the district administrations for holy month of Ramadhan.

In view of COVID19 pandemic, threadbare discussion was heldin the meeting regarding proper sanitation, fumigation, distribution ofessential commodities, uninterrupted electricity and water and otherarrangements.

   

The Divisional Commissioner asked the SMC and ULB authoritiesto ensure better sanitation and fumigation of all public place including lanesand by-lanes besides installing and repairing street lights in the city andother important places.

The SMC authoritiesinformed that the Corporation will start mechanical de-silting of drains bypressing 10 machines into service, soon.

To avoid overloading on transformers, Pole directed the DCsto frame inspection teams in their respective districts stem the incidence ofpilferage.

The PHE will ensureuninterrupted water supply and will keep additional water tankers in readymode. The DC Ganderbal was asked to ensure that Malshai Bagh canal restorationwork is completed in a time bound manner.

The Director FCS&CA informed the meeting that departmenthad already distributed ration and was presently distributing free ration toBPL category consumers under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojna.

Pole directed the Deputy Commissioners to ensure smooth andtimely distribution of essential commodities in the Valley and to monitor thedistribution process by seeking details from the tehsildhars and patwaris.

The District Control rooms will also addressed grievancesregarding Ramzan arrangements, the meeting was informed.

Pole also issued necessary directions to other concerneddepartments so that people do not face any inconvenience in present COVID-19situation.
