DLSA holds legal awareness programme on prevention of child abuse

District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) in collaboration with Humanitarian Welfare Organisation Bijbehara organised legal awareness programme on prevention of child sexual abuse here on Saturday.

Scores of school children, including a good number ofdifferently abled-children participated in the programme, organisers said in astatement.

   

Justice Rajesh Bindal, who is also the Executive Chairman ofJ&K, State Legal Services Authority was the Chief Guest on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, he said, that differently-abledchildren are an integral part of our society and they should be treatedaccordingly. He added that we need to guide them properly. He applauded theefforts of Javid Ahmad Tak, the founder of Humanity Welfare Organisation forrunning a special school for the differently-abled children. He added that allthe schools have been sensitized that no differently-abled student should berefused the admission.

Earlier Principal & Sessions Judge Anantnag, MuhammadAshraf Malik welcomed the guests and apprised them about the efforts being donefor the welfare of the specially-abled children.

Secretary DLSA Anantnag, Raffia Khaki conducted theproceedings of the programme and detailed about the activities of the DLSAAnantnag regarding various social issues.

Member Secretary J&K State Legal Services Authority,Muhammad Akram Chowdhari presented vote of thanks.

ADC Anantnag, Joint Registrar High Court of J &KSrinagar Wing, District Mobile Magistrate Anantnag, retainer lawyers, Paralegal volunteers and social activist Iqra Wani were also present on theoccasion.
