Secretary District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Bandipora Iqbal Ahmad Akhoon Saturday chaired a meeting to finalize the arrangements for observance of UN World Elder Abuse Awareness week from June 11.
The meeting was attended by officers and officials ofvarious departments who gave their suggestions for the smooth conduct of theactivities to be carried out during the week.
Secretary DLSA said that during the week people across thedistrict will be made aware of the sacrifices of the elders in bringing up thegeneration by organizing events to share information and promoting resourcesand services that can help increase seniors’ safety and well-being.
He said a range of events will be organised during the weekacross the district to mobilize community action and engage people indiscussions on how to promote dignity and respect of older adults.
