Don’t depend on politicians, handle Kashmir directly : Renzushah to Modi

Chairman of Kashmir Society, Khawaja Farooq Renzushah, on Monday urged the Prime Minister elect Narendra Modi to keep development in Kashmir free from politics.

In a statement here Renzushah said that he has written toPrime Minister elect Narendra Modi that “development in Kashmir has been thebiggest casualty during the past three decades of turmoil. Kashmir used to bethe favourite tourist destination prior to 1990. People from all parts of theworld used to visit Kashmir. However tourism industry in Kashmir came downcrashing to zero due to the conspiracies hatched by the politicians turnedpower brokers.”

He said that he has also forwarded the copy of his e-mail toJammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik. “It’s unfortunate that 80% of PM’s80k crore package for Kashmir has remained unspent. The Valley of highknowledge, Art & Sufiyat has been converted into a battlefield.”

He said, “Kashmirisare suffering because of false, emotional, and provocative slogans, which havebeen raised by the sponsored politicians since 1947. Such politicians despiteenjoying full support from New Delhi preferred to raise pro-Pakistan slogans tokeep 97% people deprived of democracy. They managed to win elections eitherunopposed or through 3% voting.”

Renzushah said that he has urged the Prime Minister elect tohandle Kashmir directly by imbibing love for this Valley rather than lookingtowards it from prism of those politicians who “looted and betrayed both Indiaas well as people of Kashmir.”
