Dr Farooq, Omar express grief over MoulanaMushtaq’s demise

Jammu and Kashmir National Conference party president Dr Farooq Abdullah and vice president Omar Abdullah on Tuesday expressed grief over the demise of noted Islamic scholar, prominent religious personality of south Kashmir MoulanaMushtaq Ahmad Khan of Seer Hamdaan.

Dr Farooq while expressing grief said, “my thoughts and sympathies are with the grief stricken family. I pray for peace to the soul of departed and strength to the grieved family,” he said adding, “Moulana’s death has created a void in the literary circles of Kashmir. His penchant for Islamic teachings and commitment to the mission of Sufis will be remembered for the times to come.”

   

NC vice-president Omar Abdullah  while extending condolences to the family, friends and admirers of departed religious leader said, “late Moulana’s scholarly attainments and public speaking had earned him fame across the state. I pray for peace to the soul of departed and strength to the grief-stricken family.”

Other NC leaders have also condoled Moulana’s demise.
