A driver was critically injured after a car rolled down into a deep gorge on Bandipora-Srinagar road here in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Sunday
The officials identified the car driver as Irshad Ahmad Sofi, son of Ghulam Ahmad, a resident of Nowpora in Bandipora town.
According to the eyewitness’s, a black Alto car bearing registration number, JK15-5674 skidded off while plying on Bandipora- Srinagar road near dangerous Churthung curve of SK Payeen village, while also heavily damaging the vehicle.
The officials and the eyewitnesses said that the driver who was pulled out from the mangled car received critical injuries and has been shifted to the Srinagar hospital.
An official said that Sofi has received head trauma and is critical. Locals said that Sofi is a baker by profession.
