A drug de-addiction awareness programme was organised at government higher secondary school Gund in Ganderbal district on Thursday. The programme was organised by a local weekly Glacier Times and was attended by the students from different schools.
Additional deputy commissioner Ganderbal Showket AhmedRather was chief guest on the occasion.
The speakers on the occasion deliberated on the ill-effectsof drug abuse and highlighted the need of taking preventive measures toeradicate the menace of drugs and other social evils in the district.
The organisers said the main aim of the programme was tospread awareness amongst the student community to take necessary steps forcurbing the drug menace.
Besides, ADC Ganderbal Showket Ahmed Rather, SHO policestation Gund Tariq Yusuf, Correspondent Greater Kashmir Irfan Raina andlecturer Hr. Sec school Gund Farooq Ahmed Magray spoke on the occasion.Naib Tehsildar Gund Mohammed Maqbool and chiefeditor of the local weekly Glacier Times Ghulam Nabi Raina were also present.
