Drug dealer arrested in Baramulla, 50 bottles of codeine phosphate recovered: Police

Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested a psychotropic drug dealer and recovered 50 bottles of codeine phosphate from his possession.

“Acting on specific information, a police team under the supervision of SDPO Pattan and SHO Pattan laid a Naka (checkpoint) on NHW at Zangam,” said a spokesman, in a statement.

   

He said a motorcyclist, identified as Manzoor Ahmad Khwaja of Nowlari Pattan was stopped by the police party at the naka.

“During search of the said person, 50 bottles of codeine phosphate were recovered from his possession,” said the spokesman, adding that a case FIR No 81/2018 under section 8/22 NDPS Act was registered in Police Station Pattan and investigation taken up.
