Sopore police Thursday claimed to have arrested a drug peddler in north Kashmir.
“One person identified as Sameer Ahmad Dar son of Mohammad Rajab Dar, a resident of Dangerpora, was arrested at a checkpoint near Sadpora-Dangerpora crossing for the drug supply offences,” a police handout said.
“He was taken to police station Sopore,” it said. According to the statement the officers at the checkpoint seized 400 capsules of Spasmoproxyvan from his possession.
A case FIR 98/2019 under relevant sections has been registered at police station Sopore and investigation taken up.
Meanwhile, the police as appealed to the community members to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighborhood.
“Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt with under law,” it said.
