Sopore police Thursday claimed to have arrested a drug peddler in north Kashmir.
“One person identified as Sameer Ahmad Dar son of MohammadRajab Dar, a resident of Dangerpora, was arrested at a checkpoint nearSadpora-Dangerpora crossing for the drug supply offences,” a police handoutsaid.
“He was taken to police station Sopore,” it said. Accordingto the statement the officers at the checkpoint seized 400 capsules ofSpasmoproxyvan from his possession.
A case FIR 98/2019 under relevant sections has beenregistered at police station Sopore and investigation taken up.
Meanwhile, the police as appealed to the community membersto come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in theirneighborhood.
“Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt withunder law,” it said.
