Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday said that it arrested a drug peddler at a checkpoint near BatengoKhanabal in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district and seized contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement here, a police spokesman said, the officersat the check point stopped a vehicle (I-10) and recovered huge quantity ofFukki from the vehicle. In this regard, a case FIR No 67/2019 under relevantsections of law has been registered at Police Station Anantnag andinvestigation has been taken up.
“Community members are requested to come forward with anyinformation regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons foundindulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actionsagainst drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are makingefforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace,” thespokesman added.
