Senior Trade Union leader and President EJAC Fayaz Ahmad Shabnam has demanded the government to release all the pending salaries of daily wagers, contractual labourers, ITI workers and land donors. He said that the salaries of these employees are pending since long which has drastically affected their lives.
“These employees are having a difficult time to even have adaily bread. This is not only injustice to them but to their families also.Although the government has been promising of releasing wages for some time buttill now no such thing is seen on the ground,” he said.
He said that the government is not taking their issueseriously even in this holy month of Ramadan and is letting the employeessuffer.
Fayaz Shabnam assured full support to the daily wagers,contractual labourers, ITI workers and land donors and said that EJAC willstand shoulder to shoulder with them till their salaries are paid.
He also demanded the release of pending bills of employeesespecially GP Fund and SLI Payments before Eid. These bills are pending sincelong in Treasury for the want of payments.
Fayaz Shabnam also urged the government to review its orderregarding the termination of services of all daily wagers, contractuals, andneed based employees who have been appointed from 2010 to 2015. He said thatsuch order will affect the bread winners of hundreds of families. He urged the government especially Governor,concerned Advisor, Chief Secretary to personally look into the matter and helpthese employees out of this situation at the earliest so that they and theirfamilies will have something to cheer on this Eid.
