EJAC seeks immediate halt to civilian killings

President EJAC Abdul Qayom Wani condemned the civilian killings in Shopian and other areas by security forces. 

In a statement issued to KNS, Wani said that continuous bloodshed in Kashmir has shaken every person with human heart. He demanded immediate halt on civilian killings in Kashmir and appealed state, national and international human rights organizations, civil society and intellectuals to use their influence for immediate halt on civilian killings in Jammu and Kashmir.

   

President EJAC said that employees joint action committee showed strong protest against the innocent killings and demanded an independent inquiry into the incident to punish those involved, so that such incidents don’t occur.

Wani along with all the leaders of EJAC showed sympathy with the bereaved families and prayed for the departed souls and speedy recovery of those injured in the incident. 

Meanwhile, senior vice president EJAC Fayaz Ahmad Shabnam has strongly condemned the fresh spree of innocent killing in Shopian.

Expressing agony over the loss of precious human lives he said, “enough blood has been spilled in Kashmir which should stop now”. 

“The forces have been let loose to kill the innocent civilians. There is no humanity left among the forces,” he said. 

He also condemned the act of forces using pellet guns “directly” on civilians. KNS/GKNN
