Ensure smooth conduct of Amarnath Yatra-2019: Div Com to officers

The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan Thursday directed Deputy Commissioners of Anantnag and Ganderbal districts besides concerned officers to ensure smooth and hassle-free conduct of Shri Amarnathji Yatra-2019.

The Divisional Commissioner made these directions whilereviewing the arrangements put in place for the forthcoming Shri AmarnathjiYatra-2019 through Pahalgam and Baltal routes which will commence from July 01to August 15, 2019.

   

The meeting was informed that the tracks towards holy cavehave already been cleared from Pahalgam and Baltal, as of now some locationsdue to recent snowfall incidents need to be cleared.

The Divisional Commissioner directed that the tracks becleared within three days. R&B department was directed to ensureimprovement of roads en-route both sides by way of macadamization and erectingof poles on shooting-stone prone areas. The Department shall also ensurecompletion of installation of the signages from Banihal en-route holy cave onboth sides before the commencement of Yatra.

Power Department was directed that requisitioned DG sets areinstalled at all the locations before 16th June 2019 on both sides. Thedepartment shall also ensure providing of power supply to BSNL authorities. Theconcerned Deputy Commissioners shall ensure availability and storage ofessential commodities including Sugar, K-oil and LPG at respective storagecentres besides requisite firewood.

Toilet facilities at the identified transit camps areincreased pursuant to the decision taken in the previous meeting besidesface-lifting, water connections, improvements, electricity and drainage to beensured at the identified locations, he said.

To meet exigencies, the Deputy Commissioners Anantnag andGanderbal have already identified additional accommodations in their respectivedistricts.

Director Health Services informed the meeting that theroaster has already been formulated and deployment of doctors and para-medicalstaff on both sides shall be completed by 25th June 2019.

The Divisional Commissioner directed Deputy Commissioners ofSrinagar, Anantnag, Ganderbal to establish Joint Control Room within theirrespective districts by 20th June 2019. It was also enjoined upon therespective Deputy Commissioners to share details to their Joint Control Roomswith the Joint Police Control Rooms established by IGP Kashmir.

The Director Disaster Management informed the chair that therescue teams of SDRF, NDRF and volunteers have already been formulated anddeployment roaster has been issued.

The Divisional Commissioner stressed on both the DeputyCommissioners to ensure quality sanitation facility at every camp location.Pahalgam Development Authority was asked to ensure the installation ofadditional dust bins at all the locations and also on both the sides of theYatra routes.

Installation of Telecommunication and Public Addresssystems, status of Helipads, construction of drains in camps, training ofvarious activities, sanitation, Shelter sheds, movement of army convoys, database of employees, inspection of transit camps, health check-up of ponies,permission process of pony owners, water facility and other facilities for thepilgrims were discussed threadbare in the meeting.
