The Congress Saturday asked the government to ensure timely snow clearance, road connectivity and electric supply to the people as fresh snowfall was bound to create more problems for them.
A statement of Congress issued here quoted the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Ghulam Ahmad Mir as saying that while the previous snowfall made life in Kashmir difficult, the fresh snowfall was bound to add more miseries to the common people.
“The government is required to press into services all agencies to ensure that the situation remained under control,” Mir said the statement. “I urge the government to ensure timely road clearance and restore electric supply as that would provide a respite to the people from the snowfall and bone chilling cold.”
Seeking intervention of Lieutenant Governor ManojSinha into the matter, he also urged the government to ensure supply of essentials to the people.
