Lashing out at BJP minister, Chandra Prakash Ganga, who had said that Gujjar families should be evicted from Samba to start work on construction of an all-India institute of medical sciences (AIIMS), senior National Conference (NC) leader and MLA Kangan, Mian Altaf Wednesday, said that the government should fulfil the genuine demands of families.
“We are not against the construction of AIIMS but the demands presented by the Gujjar families are genuine. The government should fulfil the demands of families,” he said, adding that “Let me make it clear as well that that the Gujjar families are not living on the state land.”
He said that the families should be given land accordingly and the amount for constructing their residential houses should also be given to them, which he said are also the demands of Gujjar families.
“I believe the government should feel no hesitation to fulfil the genuine demands of Gujjar families,” he said, adding that the families are being tortured to evict their residential houses, which should be stopped forthwith.
“The government should find any solution if such things are creating polarization,” he said.
