As part of election arrangements for the ensuing Parliament elections, District Election Officer, Dr Syed Abid Rashid Shah along with SSP Awantipora, inspected arrangements at Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) distribution and reception centers here on Wednesday.
The DEO visited distribution and collection centre forPampore and Tral Assembly segments at Lethpora where he inspected specialarrangements regarding distribution and collection of EVMs and other materialfor election and accommodation of polling staff.
Shah also inspected the security arrangements for MaterialManagement Cell (MMC) and Strong Room where EVMs are kept.
Later, he also supervised the training session of pollingstaff at EDI Pampore. Assistant Returning Officers and other concerned staffalso accompanied the DEO during the visit.
