Expedite procurement, supply of drugs to hospitals: Advisor Kumar to JKMSCL

Advisor to Governor, K Vijay Kumar today chaired a meeting to discuss important issues of Health and Medical Education department. He also reviewed progress on projects initiated for overall development of health sector in the state.

The meeting was attended byFinancial Commissioner Health Atal Dulloo, Mission Director NHM BhupinderKumar, Principal GMC Srinagar Dr Kaiser Ahmed, Director Health Services KashmirDr Kunzes Dolma while as Principal GMC Jammu Dr Sunanda Raina, MD JKMSCL ShivKumar Gupta, Director Health Services Jammu Dr Sameer Mattoo and other officersattended the meeting through video conferencing.

   

Detailed discussions were held on various important issuespertaining to further improvement of healthcare services and development ofhealth related projects in the state.

Withregard to procurement of drugs, equipments and machinery for various governmenthealth institutions, MD JKMSCL was asked to brief the meeting about the processof procurement and tentative timeline for providing equipments to theinstitutions.

He was asked to expeditethe process and ensure that the projected demand of equipments/machinery ishanded over to the institutions to make them operationalize at the earliest.

Besides, he was also directed to ensure procurement andsupply of important drugs that are to be provided to the health institutions asper the free drug policy.

The Advisor said the existing process of procurement shouldbe made more simple so that the critical equipments/drugs can be procuredwithout wasting much time but following due procedure.

Director Health Services Kashmir and Jammu were asked toproject their demand well in time to the corporation so that procurementprocess is initiated in time.

Various issues pertainingto National Health Mission (NHM) and its support for the development of healthsector in the state was also discussed in detail. The MD NHM informed themeeting about the status of the projects they have undertaken and status offunds to be provided for improving patient care services in the state.

The Advisor also asked for compiling list of completedprojects so that same can be dedicated to the people at the earliest.Improvement of Urban Health Centres in Kashmir and Jammu, status of Pahalgamhospital, status of Rehmat-e-Alam hospital in Anantnag, status of digitizationof service records of all doctors, pending DPCs in health department and issuesto be taken up with the Finance Department were also discussed in detail duringthe meeting.

The Advisor stressed for encouraging outreach program sothat people are provided with better services. He asked for delivering qualityservices to the people coming to various government health institutions for thetreatment.
