'Extend time for census in Ward 3'

Greater Kashmir

Srinagar, June 22: The employees assigned to conduct the census of Ward 3, including parts of Dal Lake have appealed the Director Census to extend their timeframe for completing their job.
A delegation of supervisors and enumerators assigned the job told Greater Kashmir that they were supposed to complete the census from May 15 to June 30. But due to strikes and incessant rains, the area remained out of bounds resulting in delay in completion of assigned job, they said.
They said, “We got only 10 working days and appeal our director to provide us more time to complete the process.”
According to them 17 supervisors and 66 enumerators were assigned to conduct the census of the ward 3.
Talking to Greater Kashmir the Director Census Farooq Ahmad Faktoo said he would look into all the aspects and would take up the issue with New Delhi after June 30. However, where required the extension of timeframe for completing census would be considered, he said.
