Families stuck in Goa demand evacuation

Scores of Kashmiri families stuck in Goa have urged government to evacuate them

A resident of Srinagar who is stuck with dozens of otherfamilies said they were facing problems in getting daily basic necessities.

   

“We are facing problems in getting food items for our kidsas we are not allowed to move out. Situation has become terrible for all ofus,” a resident told Greater Kashmir over phone from Goa.

“Temperature is increasing with each passing day which ismaking our survival difficult here. Business is already shut here and Valleypeople associated with it are sitting at their homes,” he said.

Urging the J&K administration to get them evacuated, theresidents said the CRPF is likely to take over the control of Goa to strictlyimplement the lock-down.

“Our kids are under depression, we want to return home, weappeal J&K government to help us,” he said.

Meanwhile a group of Valley bound students in Rajasthan alsourged the J&K administration to facilitate their return to Valley.

One of the students said they had come to Rajasthan to getcoaching for different national level competitive exams but were later stuckdue to the country wide lock down to contain the COVID-19.

“We are left at a cross roads as we our survival has becomedifficult here. We approached different quarters but in vain. We are strugglingto get meals here as all the shops and other business establishments are closedhere,” a student said.
