Family protests to seek whereabouts of missing teacher in Bandipora

The residents and family members of a missing school teacher on Saturdayheld a protest demonstration in north Kashmir’s Bandipora to seek his whereabouts.

The protestors blocked Gurez-Bandipora road near Mantrigam seekingwhereabouts of Mushtaq Ahmad Lone (29) missing from May 13.

   

“On May 13, Mushtaq left from his home to attend his duty atChuntimulla where he is posted as a teacher in government higher secondaryschool. When he didn’t not return home by the evening on that day we made phonecalls to every relative to seek his whereabouts but couldn’t locate him,” saidManzoor Ahmad, his brother.

He said that according to the headmaster of the school they were togethertill they reached Bandipora main market on May 13 but when they called Mushtaqby the evening his phone was switched off.

Manzoor said that when they failed to trace him they lodged a missingreport at police station Pethkoot to seek his whereabouts.

The protesters appealed to the police to speed up the efforts in tracing the missing teacher.
