Baramulla, Jan 7: The family of Faizan Ahmad Buhroo, who was allegedly drowned by the cops, has rebutted the police claim that they have admitted that he (Faizan) was drowned in an accident in the Jhelum.
“The utterances by a senior police official are an attempt to shield the culprit. The statement of official is totally false and instead of taking action against the erring cop, officials seems trying to find a way out to exonerate the accused involved the drowning of my son,” said Fareeda Begum, mother of Faizan.
“I haven’t uttered a single word in front of the police and neither I was approached by the police to record any statement,” she added.
She said that she was sole eyewitness in the killing of her son and would only record her statement before the commission of inquiry constituted by the state government to probe the killing of 17 youth during the summer unrest.
