Farooq Abdullah greets people on Shab-e-Meraj

National Conference President and MP from Srinagar Farooq Abdullah on Sunday greeted people on Shab-e- Meraj.

Abdullah while greeting people said the night marks theascension of the Prophet (PBUH) towards heavens.

   

“I extend my warm greetings to people on the auspiciouseve, may the blessed night foster unity and consciousness among Muslims. Maythe blessed night act as harbinger of peace, prosperity and tranquility inJ&K,” he said.

Abdullah also appreciated the decision of J&K WaqafBoard to suspend congregational prayers on Shab-e-Meraj, saying the measurewill help save human lives and help curb spread of the pandemic.

The party’s additionalgeneral secretary, Sheikh Mustufa Kamal, MPs Muhammad Akbar Lone, HasnainMasoodi have also extended greeting to people on the eve of Shab-e-Meraj,asking them to take care of themselves by following virus protocol.

Meanwhile, Abdullah expressed grief over demise of PresidentBohra Sabha, and Vyapar Mandal Bohrikadal, Hidynath Mutthu.

Abdullah said Mutthu was a noble soul who always stood forHindu-Muslim harmony.  The NC Presidentalso extended condolences to a close associate of Sher-e-Kashmir, KhwajaMuhammad Amin Sofi on the demise of his brother Muhammad Shafi Sofi of AbiGuzar here.

The party MP from Anantnag, Hassnain Masoodi has alsocondoled with the mournful family.
