Farooq greets people on Urs observance of Hazrat Baba Haidar Reshi (RA)

Jammu and Kashmir National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah on Thursday extended greetings to people on the Urs observance of Hazrat Baba Haider Reshi (RA) which is to be observed at his Shrine at Anantnag.

The NC president while greeting the people said Sufism hasbeen the mainstay of Kashmiri cultural and tradition. “The Reshis brought theessence of Islamic teaching to every house hold by localizing it. Theirteachings touch a spectrum of issues encompassing both individual as well asthe society in their fold. They talked of compassion, brotherhood and mutualrespect which are the pivotal aspects of any stable society. These great men paraphraseduniversal values in their poetry,” he said.

   

 Meanwhile Dr Farooqand NC vice-president Omar Abdullah also paid glowing tributes to the notedIslamic scholar, polymath Hazrat Alama Syed Qasim Shah Bukhari (RA) on histwentieth death anniversary.  The duo intheir message said the Alama was the epitome of truth, god consciousness, andpiousness.  While praising the role ofAlama in the field of Islamic studies, the duo said the services of the Alamain the field of Islamic studies shall be remembered for all the times to come.

Meanwhile party general secretary Haji Ali Muhammad,additional general secretary Dr Sheikh Mustufa Kamal, provincial presidentNasir Aslam Wani, senior leaders Abdul Rahim Rather, Muhammad Akbar Lone,Muhammad Shafi Uri, Sharief Ud Din Shariq,Choudhary Muhammad Ramzan, MubarakGul, Irfan Ahmad Shah, Pir Afaq,Pirzada Ahmad Shah also paid glowing tributesto the noted scholar on his anniversary.

Meanwhile party president and vice president have alsogreeted the first batch of Hajis who left for the annual Hajj pilgrimage. Theduo has urged the pilgrims to pray for peace and prosperity of the state. Theduo prayed for the safe return of all the Hajis.
