Farooq, Omar pay tributes to Ali, Jabbar on death anniversary

National Conference President and MP from Srinagar Farooq Abdullah and Vice President, Omar Abdullah on Saturday paid glowing tributes to former treasurer and ex-MLA Zadibal, Sadiq Ali on his 9th death anniversary.

Abdullah said late Ali was a man of integrity andprinciples. “He was a versatile personality, a writer, a proficient speaker andhe left long lasting impressions on his colleagues and associates. Even hisdetractors could not help but get captivated with his persona. I pay my earnesttributes to him on his death anniversary,” Abdullah said.

   

Omar while paying tributes to the late leader said Ali was aconscious politician, an environmentalist, an accomplished writer.

“He contributed a lot to the society through hisintellectual skills and performed his duties in various capacities within theparty as an MLA with utmost dedication. I pay my earnest tributes to him. Ipray for eternal peace to soul,” Omar said.

Ali was father of TanvirSadiq, political advisor to OmarAbdullah.

Abdullah and Omar also paid glowing tributes to the partyveteran, and former Minister, Sheikh Abdul Jabbar on his 30th anniversary.

Terming him an epitome of service, the duo said he sincerelyworked towards empowerment of people in Ganderal with commitment and passion.

The duo said Jabbar will be remembered for his service topeople of his constituency and the party. The duo prayed for peace to the soulof late leader.

While paying tributes to his father, party’s districtPresident, Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar said: “we are committed to nurture his legacyof secular thinking and inclusive approach for one and all. We  will continue to follow the path laid down byhim which is to protect J&K and its people against forces hell bent todivide us on the basis of religion, region and language.”

Among others Sheikh Mustufa Kamal, Nasir Aslam Wani,Muhammad Akbar Lone, Hasnain Masoodi, Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, Muhammad SyedAkhoon, Showkat Ahmad Mir, Peer Afaq, Imran Nabi Dar, Salman Ali Sagar, SaraHayat Shah; Ahsan Pardesi, Mudassir Shahmiri, Shami Oberio and Mushtaq Ahmadalso paid glowing tributes to Ali and Jabbar.
