National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah and vice-president Omar Abdullah on Friday paid glowing tributes to veteran party leader, former MLA Sheikh Muhammad Mansoor of Shopian on his 29th death anniversary.
Dr. Farooq while paying tributes to late Sheikh Mansoorsaid, “The history of National Conference party is replete with sacrifice andstruggle. Sheikh Mansoor Sahib was one of the sons of soil who laid down hislife serving the people of Shopian in particular and the state in general. Onhis anniversary I take the opportunity to pay glowing tributes to him. I pray to Almighty for peace to his soul. Hissacrifice and service for that party and the people of the state shall beremembered for all the times to come.”
Omar Abdullah in his message said, “Late Mansoor sahib laiddown his life for the principles of truth, courage and peace. On his deathanniversary, I offer him my tributes. His contribution towards the developmentof Shopian is immense which cannot be summarized in few words.”
Among others party general secretary Haji Ali MuhammadSagar, additional general secretary Dr Sheikh Mustufa Kamal, provincialpresident Nasir Aslam wani, state secretary Sakina Itoo, Abdul Majeed BhatLarmi, Dr Bashir Ahmad Veeri, Showkat Hussain, Imran Nabi Dar, Sheikh Rafi,Muhammad Shafi also paid glowing tributes to Late Sheikh Mansoor.
Meanwhile a commemorative meeting was held at party headquarters Nawa- e -Subhu, here which was presided over by party generalsecretary Haji Ali Muhammad Sagar. Party’s provincial Secretary Showkat Mir,provincial spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar also participated in the meeting andpaid glowing tributes to late Mansoor.
