Farooq prays for J&K’s peace, prosperity

National Conference (NC) President Farooq Abdullah Monday paid obeisance at DargahHazratbal where he prayed for peace and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir.

A statement of NC issued here said that Abdullah prayed for bountiful provisions from the Almighty and for protection of the people of Jammu and Kashmir from the prevailing COVID19 crisis and weather vagaries during the ongoing winter season.

   

The statement said that in his interaction with the devotees there, he said that the sum and substance of the Islamic faith and essence ‘Iman’ was love of the Holy Prophet (SAW) and following the tenets of the holy Quran and Hadith. It said that the the NC president also paid a visit to the grave of his father and mother Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah and Begum Akbar Jehan.

The statement said that Abdullah also visited the bereaved family of late Ghulam Mustafa Shahdad, who breathed his last on Sunday at his Habak residence, and expressed sympathy with them.
