Female teacher drowns while taking selfie in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal

A 25-year-old teacher drowned in a river in Gagangeer area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Wednesday while she was taking a selfie during an excursion.

An official said that Kulsuma Rashid (25), a resident of Badampora Ganderbal, slipped into Sindh nallah near Ahsan resort while she was taking pictures during a school picnic.

   

She was a teacher at Starland secondary school Badampura.

SHO police station Gund Syed Arif said the woman accidentally fell into the Sindh nallah. “The deceased lady is missing and is feared to have drowned,” said the official, adding that efforts are on to trace her.
