FIR registered against two Awantipora residents for concealing travel history: Police

The Jammu andKashmir Police have booked two persons in Awantipora area of south Kashmir’sPulwama district for concealing their travel history, an official said Monday.

“Upon theinformation received from the magistrate that two persons of Awantipora areahave concealed their travel history in order to evade necessary quarantineprocess, case FIR No. 35/2020 u/s 188,270,271 IPC has been registered againstthem at Police Station Awantipora,” he said.

   

The duo hasrecently returned to Charsoo and Goripora villages of Awantipora with a travelhistory of Pakistan and Bangladesh, said the official.

They  havebeen sent to EDI Pampore to undergo necessary quarantine and further actionunder the said FIR shall be initiated after their quarantine period is over. 

Police haveappealed to the general public to cooperate with administration and the policein this unprecedented situation and proactively disclose their travel history.

People are alsorequested to inform Police Control Room Awantipora on phone number 01933247369/7051404001,  if any person found in their locality has returned fromoutside Jammu and Kashmir, said the official.
