National Conference leader, advocate Nazir Malik today took the stock of the situation arising out of flash floods in Bandipora district.
During inspection, he was informed that due to heavy rainsthe Papchan Nallah had swelled and wreaked havoc with scores of villagesespecially Lowdara, Kunzpora, Vijhira Kulhama, Lankrashipora. All these areasgot submerged.
Advocate Malik, north zone secretary NC, expressedsolidarity with the affected families.
He urged the administration to provide relief on war-footingto the affected families and farmers and ensure their speedy rehabilitation.
During the heavy nightlong rains on 11 June the situationworsened in the areas, he was informed.
Advocate Malik, according to a statement issued here, urgedthe administration to keep contingency plan ready to deal with the situation incase heavy floods occur.
