Forces allegedly ransack houses of militants in Shopian in south Kashmir

Sources said that some family members of the militants have also been detained by the forces during the raid.

Government forces have allegedly ransacked the houses of militants in Shopian district of south Kashmir last night.
 
Reports said that forces barged into the houses of militants in Safanagri, Baba Khidhar, Turkawangam and Malikgund villages.
 
They said that forces ransacked the houses and thrashed the inmates.
 
Sources said that some family members of the militants have also been detained by the forces during the raid.
 
Later, residents staged a protest in Safanagri against the ransacking.
 
Meanwhile, a top police official said they are checking the reports.
 
"We are checking the facts about the incidents but I have no report of any damage or ransacking by the forces," he said.
