Forces launch CASO at Shopian village

A police official told Greater Kashmir that at around 7:40 pm a joint team of Army, SOG and Central Reserved Police Force personnel ring-fenced the Chitragam village of the district and began a door to door search operation.

Government forces launched a cordon and search operation at a village in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on  Wednesday evening.

A police official told Greater Kashmir that at around 7:40 pm a joint team of Army, SOG and Central Reserved Police Force personnel ring-fenced the Chitragam village of the district and began a door to door search operation.

"The operation was launched following the inputs about the presence of militants in the area", the official said.

All the entry and exit points to the village have been sealed and lights installed, he added.
