Government forces on Sunday launched a cordon and search operation at a village in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
A police official said that columns of army, police and CRPF launched a search operation in Kashewa village of the district.
“The operation was launched after forces received inputs about the presence of militants in the area,” the official said.
He said that all the entry points of the village were sealed and door to door searches conducted. The operation, however, was called off as no militant was found in the area.
