Forces launch search operation in Bandipora’s Ashtengoo village

All the entry and exit points into the village were sealed by the security forces and search operation was launched, eye witnesses said.

Government forces launched cordon and search operation (CASO) on Saturday afternoon in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

Reports said that Army’s 27 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), special operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police and Paramilitary CRPF launched a joint search operation around 3:30 pm Saturday afternoon after the inputs of presence of some militants at village Ghat Ashtengoo, Bandipora.

All the entry and exit points into the village were sealed by the security forces and search operation was launched, eye witnesses said.  

The search operation was going on in the area when this report was filed.
