Government forces on Wednesday launched cordon and search operation at Dardsara and Noorpora villages of Tral township in Pulwama district.

A police official said that the operation was launched as suspected militants were believed to be hiding inside the village.

On Tuesday afternoon, forces personnel comprising Jammu & Kashmir police, army's 42 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) cordoned off Batipora Dardsara and Dangerpora Noorpora hamlets.

As per locals, the searches were carried out many times in these areas. "Forces had sealed all the entry and exit points. The operation remain on for hours together." they said. “It was a “normal practice” by the forces that “concluded peacefully in the evening,” a police official said.
