Government forces launched a cordon-and-search-operation (CASO) in Badroo village of Yaripora in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Tuesday.
The CASO was launched following inputs about the presence of militants in the area, said an official.
However, the CASO was disrupted following intense clashes between locals and the government forces.
Reports said that youth came out of their houses and pelted the forces with stones to disrupt the operation.
The forces, they said, fired tear gas shells to chase away the protesters.
The CASO in which the forces also used drones was later on called off.
