Four drug peddlers arrested in Srinagar; contraband substance, cash seized: Police

Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested four drugpeddlers in Srinagar and seized contraband substance and cash from theirpossession.

The police identified the two persons as Mohammad Rafiq Pahloo son ofAbdul Ab Majeed of Babademb and Riyaz Ahmad Channa son of Abdul Aziz residentof Chinkral Mohalla.

   

“The duo was in possession of 400 grams of charas and some quantity ofheroin. They have been detained at Police Station Nowhatta,” said a policespokesman, in a statement.

The police said that the duo was detained at Malkha Chowk Nowhatta.

“A case FIR No 22/2019 has also been lodged in Police Station Nowhattaand investigation has been taken up,” the statement said.

Two more identified as Bashir Ahmad Gatoo son of Mohammad Abdullah Gatooof Pulwama and Numan Farooq Bhat son of Farooq Ahmad of Chanapora were arrestednear Hotel International R M Bagh.

“Have seized some quantity of heroin and Rs 1,99,400 from their possession.Both have been detained at Police Station R. M. Bagh and a case FIR No 18/2019has been registered,” added the police statement.
