Forest Protection Force (FPF) arrested four persons, including three alleged timber smugglers and a load carrier driver, and seized illicit timber in Hutmurrah area of Anantnag district, an official said.
He said that load carrier (JK03A-3425) was intercepted bythe FPF men at 2:30 am on Sunday near Seer Hutmurrah area in south Kashmirdistrict. The load carrier was carrying illicit timber—14 logs measuring52-cft.The smugglers were also apprehended by the FPF.The load carrier along with illicit timber was also seized, the official said,adding that subsequently a case was registered and all the four persons werehanded over to police. The smugglers were earlier arrested on four occasions,the official added.
