Fresh exchange of fire took place between the militants and the government forces after a lull of several hours in Tujjar area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday.
Reports said that after civilians were evacuated from the Tujjar area, contact was established between militants and government forces. Intense firing was going on from both sides while this report was being filed, reported news agency GNS.
Meanwhil, all educational institutions are closed while Internet was suspended as a precautionary measure in Sopore.
A joint team of army’s 22 RR, SOG and CRPF laid a siege around Nowpora area of Tujjar in Sopore late last night and a brief gunfight took place.
