Higher reaches including Zojila pass and health resort Sonamarg in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Thursday received fresh snowfall prompting authorities to shut the Srinagar-Kargil highway for vehicular traffic.
Reports said Zojila pass received around one ft of snow while health resort Sonamarg also recorded 4-5 inches of fresh snowfall.
Parts of Ganderbal district including Gund, Kullan and Gagengar also received light snowfall of around 1-2 inches.
The fresh snowfall along Zojila has shut the Srinagar-Kargil highway due to non-motorable consitions.
