Amid rise in COVID19 cases, this central Kashmir district on Saturday recorded the highest number of recoveries of patients suffering from corona infection.
As many as 141 patients recovered from COVID19 in a single day, revealed the official data. However, an official said, 28 new COVID case were also reported in the district today, taking the total number of positive cases to 1,371.
Of these total cases, 885 patients have recovered so far. The number of active cases in the district is 446, said the official. The district has so far reported 20 COVID deaths.
Meanwhile, the district administration re-imposed the lockdown restrictions for one week from today, till September 5. The decision has been taken in view of the rising number of COVID cases in the district, said another official.
Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal Shafqat Iqbal visited several areas of the main town to review the situation and ensure that the lockdown orders were implemented strictly.
The official said several shops and other business establishments were sealed for allegedly violating the lockdown orders.
