Ganderbal votes for development, local governance

The voters in the three District Development Council (DDC) constituencies Ganderbal A, B and C and seven sarpanch and four panch constituencies that went for polls on Friday said that they have voted for development and local governance.

Moderate to brisk voting was witnessed for the DDC and panchayat by-polls in these constituencies.

   

Upper belts of Ganderbal including Wurpash, Gutlibagh and other areas witnessed brisk polling while as some areas outside main town Ganderbal recorded moderate polling.

At several places, long queues of women voters, first-time voters and elderly people were seen outside the polling stations.

District Election Officer, Ganderbal Shafqat Iqbal told Greater Kashmir that in the thirds phase, a final voter turnout for the three DDC constituencies was 24.76 percent while for Sarpanch elections it was 43.4 percent and for Panch elections 33.5 percent.
