Gang using wooden toy gun for robberies busted in Sopore: Police

Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday claimed to have busted a gang of thieves who were using a toy gun for robberies in Sopore town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

“A gang using a wooden AK-47 was looting people in parts ofSopore. The four people who were part of this gang have been arrested,” SDPOSopore Raja Majid said while addressing the media in Sopore.

   

He said that a wooden AK-47 gun, one motorcycle and two cellphones have been recovered from their possession.

The officer identified the arrestee as Bilal Ahmed Rather(Carpenter), Latief alias Tusqi, Farooq Ahmed and Ishfaq Ahmed, all residentsof Sopore.

The police said that the gang was active in Sopore for pastone year.
