Geelani calls for shutdown, asks people to make ‘Eidgah chalo success

Paying rich tributes to the Shaheed-e-Hurriyat  Khawaja Abdul Gani Lone and Shaheed-i-Millat Mirwaiz Moulana Muhammad Farooq on their respective anniversaries, the Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani urged people to observe a complete shutdown on 21 May, and make “Eidgah Chalo” programme a grand success to commemorate their anniversary.

“Both the slain leaders played a vital role in the ongoingKashmir movement,” Geelani, said in a statement.

   

Recalling his personal relation with both the leaders,Hurriyat (G) chairman said, “I always treated them as my younger brothers. Theyhad immense leadership qualities and had dedicated their lives for the sacredcause. We hope that their followers and fans shall lead their mission with zealand zest.”

Describing Moulana Farooq as an Islamic scholar and greatorator and Abdul Gani Lone a seasoned politician and a statesman, Geelani said,”We pay rich tributes and reverence to all those who have sacrificed theirhonour, wealth and precious lives for the ongoing movement since 1931.”

Meanwhile, Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) andNational Front (NF) also paid rich tributes to Shaheed-e-Millat Mirwaiz MoulviMuhammad Farooq and Shaheed-e-Hurriyat Khwaja Abdul Gani Lone on their anniversaries.

The DFP also paid rich tributes to victims of  Hawal massacre of May 21, 1990.
